Foul Fowl and Fair

“Through the sharp air a flaky torrent flies, Mocks the slow sight, and hides the gloomy skies; The fleecy clouds their chilly bosoms bare, And shed their substance on the floating air.”

  1. Lorna, my darlin\’,
    Lorna, my dear,
    I know it\’s been long since
    from me you did hear.

    But in appreciation of you,
    and with deepest regard,
    I thought I would show you
    my repressed inner bard.

    Try as I may,
    and try as I might,
    I can never come close
    to your poetic insight.

    Okay, so there may have been some fromage in that poem.  But I trust your generosity will forgive my humble attempt. 🙂

    Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a clever and multi-facetted comment.  I could (and did) appreciate it on at least two levels.  It had the hallmark signature of the wit and insight I\’ve come to appreciate and expect in your writing.

    And to answer your question, the answer is "fortunately, no, I have broken neither bone nor anything else and am treading lightly at present where said sundry matters are concerned. :)"  But thank you for your wishes and concern my dear friend.

    I hope this note finds you in good health and joyful in spirit.

  2. Awesome photos . Although living in colder climes you know by just looking at the pics that the air is mild and damp and it is perfect snowball weather .

  3. Fabulous photos! but brrrrrrrr — I think I\’ll stay where I\’m at and just view it from afar. I lived in Iowa and the midwest all of my youth – I\’ve had enough of that cold biting weather to last a lifetime.

    We had a piddly little snowfall Friday; today it\’s colder than a well-digger\’s helmet.

    Point me toward spring, please.

    Nice to meet you too Kate. =)

    @Cheryl
    It was what you\’d definitely call a blustery day. We haven\’t seen a lot of snow this year so I thought it best to document it while it was still on the ground or driving sideways through the air.

    @Simon
    lol
    I\’m glad to see you are still of and in one piece and in fine poetic form as well. It was lovely and not too cheesy. Thank you Simon.

    @Toad
    Toad you know your snow. I have a feeling I\’m lucky you weren\’t around while I was out in the yard taking my pictures or I might have found myself an unwilling but hopefully quickly moving target!
    ;P

    @Mafioso Man
    You are most lucky that you married my sister instead of me. If you were my husband I\’d crack a whip and no ancient Chinese secret would save you! pffffffffffffft  love ya\’ =D

    @Brenda
    You know it\’s not the cold so much but the damp. It just gets in your bones and stays there until mid July. brrrrrrrrrr is right! 😉

    @Shivering Kay the Pomegranate Pirate
    A well digger\’s helmet…is that anything like the "nether regions" of a brass monkey?

    Saw you in the shower eh?  Perhaps you need a new shower curtain if the general public is privy to your daily ablutions ;P
    As to catching a flight; you are a hardy soul to contemplate actually braving the ensuing hen party lol…if I could I would. I\’ve never minded moving other people even though I hate doing it for myself. =)

    I thought it had finally arrived here as well but once again the rest of this week seems to be as indecisive as the rest of the "season". Oh well 🙂
