Monday Morning Blues and Greens

The sky fell over night to seed the yard. The grey Monday morning is illuminated from below by sprays of blossoms painted in the blues of each day’s hours and the crisp green of river shallows pooled transparent round the emerald of moss covered rocks.

    I\’m glad you all liked the photos. I was surprised that they turned out as nicely as they did because I must say that the weather has turned foul again. They\’re even talking about the possibility of snow tomorrow. I certainly hope that all the new growth survives alright. I don\’t know about all of you but I\’m definitely ready for winter to be over once and for all this year!=)

    Those little blue things are the most beautiful flowers I\’ve ever seen. If I had to pick a flower to be, it would be that.

    Thanks for sharing it with us.

    Botanist that I am, I\’ll continue to call it a little blue thing until I learn otherwise.

    I believe (and please don\’t sue me if I\’m wrong) that those little blue flowers are called Blue Scillas. They are the most incredible colour…the pictures don\’t do them justice…and now tonight they\’re covered with about a half an inch of snow….As my son likes to say "Why won\’t winter die already?"

    @Barbara
    Aren\’t they? They\’re growing in around the snowdrops and it\’s quite a sight to see them all together!
